Perlbal is a single-threaded event-based server supporting HTTP load balancing, web serving, and a mix of the two (see below).

Installing Perlbal

Perlbal is not available as a package for Debian Etch, but we can install it through the Perl shell. Before we do this, we install a few prerequisites:
apt-get install build-essential unzip lynx ncftp perl

Afterwards we invoke the Perl shell as follows:

perl -MCPAN -e shell

On the Perl shell, we run the following three commands to install Perlbal:

force install HTTP:: Dateinstall IO::AIO

force install Perlbal

Type

q

Sometimes , you are looking for Cisco IOS for you device , for update or using other features But , if you are not authorize to download form Cisco web site , the problem is just Begin.

I don’t want to put some ftp site address here , but wants to declare some method to find out where is all of these IOS located !

First method is to capture the traffic of IOSHunter http://www.vitaltech-group.com/IOSHunter.htm to find out the address of ftp servers.

The second is the powerful Internet file search Gegereka that can be founded on http://www.gegereka.com/

Just search by keyword everything you are looking for even Cisco IOS !

Site need a code for authentication that can be generated by simple a click on the Get the code.

Some times , we need central management of SNMP devices , to control all devices status , bandwidth , memory , CPU , users and so on.

on the market there are bunch of these software but Open Source one is something else.

The features that at least the selected software must have is :

1-Web Base

2-Platform Independent

3-Easily Configurable

4-Store Report and data in Database

5-Advance User Management

6-Open Source

7-Open Source — > to be continue

All the features and much more is available in Cacti.

Cacti is a complete network graphing solution designed to harness the power of RRDTool’s data storage and graphing functionality. Cacti provides a fast poller, advanced graph templating, multiple data acquisition methods, and user management features out of the box. All of this is wrapped in an intuitive, easy to use interface that makes sense for LAN-sized installations up to complex networks with hundreds of devices.

Today i read some inforamation about the architecture of Big Wikipedia , and the speeding mechanism that Wikipedia use for dynamic pages.

They use application with the name of “memcached” , very nice nothing can say about it , i test it and the result is impressing

Danga Interactive developed memcached to enhance the speed of LiveJournal.com, a site which was already doing 20 million+ dynamic page views per day for 1 million users with a bunch of webservers and a bunch of database servers. memcached dropped the database load to almost nothing, yielding faster page load times for users, better resource utilization, and faster access to the databases on a memcache miss.
