I have created a VM that you can simply download and install in any VMWare tool. It has (almost ;)) everything you need, including a nice web frontend. It runs on top of a standard Debian, so modification is simple. It is called <a href="http://www.syslogappliance.de" rel="nofollow">SyslogAppliance</a> You can even use a VMWare-based appliance.
